David Purvis is an experienced executive with international and US leadership across all phases of oil and gas activities for both majors and independents. He is known for his ability to think strategically and build actionable plans to deliver results.
As the Technical Director with Brunei Shell Petroleum, David oversaw all technical activities. David helped stabilize production in the country and implemented improved development planning activities. As the VP Engineering at BHP Billiton Petroleum, David was a member of the Petroleum Executive team. He led technical standards development and oversaw integrated technical assurance for major projects, including entry into Deepwater Mexico and exiting the US unconventional play.
David earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University and is a registered PE in Petroleum Engineering. David is an Adjunct Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Mississippi State University.
