John has been involved in the energy industry for more than 25 years. He has been responsible for originating and structuring equity and debt energy transactions in industry, investment banking, and private equity. He has been the CFO of two private equity-backed oil and gas start-ups, focusing on both onshore and offshore. John worked at GE Capital, with responsibility for originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing direct equity and debt investments globally.
Prior to GE Capital, he was an investment banker with Metis Energy PLC. and Deutsche Bank A.G. John also managed the Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments department for BHP Billiton Petroleum in London and spent more than ten years at Royal Dutch Shell in the Corporate M&A and Financing department.
John holds an MBA from University of St. Thomas (Houston) and a BBA in both Accounting and Finance with Honors from University of Houston.
