Optimized Constraint Management
This performance phase is all about creating a deeper understanding of your business. We examine your organizational behavior and your total business system performance, and then work to maximize throughput by removing bottlenecks. We will coach you run your asset close to its system limits, but well within safety limits. The desired endpoint of this phase, described in our four dimensions (people, plant, process, and potential), is:
People
Staff and contractors should have a deep knowledge of how their physical assets are performing and if their processes are working. They will be motivated to continuously improve this performance and rewarded for their ideas in improving areas like well performance, infill and near-field opportunities, modifications, and streamlining.
Good leadership here plays the role of a challenger, always looking for (and prompting) continuous performance improvements.
Plant
The hardware of your asset should be in excellent shape and debottlenecked from an overall systems throughput perspective. This can be done at a competitive cost of ownership across the remaining lifecycle of your business opportunity. All integrity and process safety risks will be proactively managed. Your front-line staff will feel “ownership” of the elements in their care.
Process
All critical aspects of your business will be proactively managed by people with a deep understanding of the industry. Standardization will become the default approach. Processes will be owned and improved by cross-organization groups. Scorecards will measure both outcomes and process compliance.
Potential
The producing potential of each asset can be understood through the systematic identification of opportunities … in particular with infill, debottlenecking, and cost performance. Profitable short-term opportunities will have been captured.
